The WHA Group was originally established in 2003 by a group of executives who have been involved in property development for a number of years. Headed by Dr. Somyos Anantaprayoon, the honorable president, the business concept of the WHA Group is to provide clients with factory and warehousing solutions in order for them to operate at full efficiency. With expertise and experience, the WHA Group has quickly positioned itself in the highly competitive industrial property market and is now known as the leading and the biggest built-to-suit distribution center and factory developer in Thailand.
Starting with its first project in 2003, the 53,000-sq.m. Consumer Logistics Center, which is regarded as the largest distribution center in South East Asia, the WHA Group has been recognized as a professional warehouse and factory expert by both global and domestic multi-national companies from different industries. In addition, the WHA Group itself has also developed a number of built-to-suit distribution centers in different main logistical routes of Thailand. These centers include: a 53,000-sq.m. air-conditioned distribution center with different temperature zones for healthcare products, a 11,000-sq.m. warehouse for hazardous and dangerous goods, a 18,000-sq.m. closed-ventilation system distribution center, and a 72,500-sq.m. warehouse farm project known as the Mega Logistics Center.
Apart from experience in developing different types of distribution centers, the WHA Group is also known as a leading developer of world-class built-to-suit factories. Three large-cale factories have been developed for three clients from three different industries, which comprise a factory for aerospace composite/metallic manufacturing with a space of 15,000 sq.m., a 7,500-sq.m factory for the manufacture of big bikes with a future plan for expansion, and a 10,000-sq.m nanotechnology wood replacement factory.
Up to 2011, 16 built-to-suit distribution centers and 3 factories have been developed by the WHA Group with a total leasing space of more than 400,000 sq.m. The WHA Group’s client portfolio includes many globally-recognized companies in the aerospace market, automotive market, consumer product market, healthcare market, and the third party logistics market from different parts of the world.
In 2012 the WHA Group is planning (as well as on the process of negotiation with certain world-class clients) for the development of at least five projects in five different key logistical routes of the country. If the WHA Group could achieve all the five projects as planned, it would result in over 150,000 sq.m. leasable area with approximate investment of Baht 3 billion, or over 500,000 sq.m. leasable area with approximate investment of Baht 10 billion in total (inclusive of the projects having been sold and/or transferred to WHAPF).
In order to be publicly-recognized as well as internationally-recognized, WHA Corporation PCL., one of the companies in the WHA Group, is now in the process of initial public offering and being listed on the Stock Exchange of Thailand.
